Menu Planner

Hi, friends!!

I’m loving this meal planner for our family — it is saving me so much time in the kitchen! I’ll sit down every Thursday or Friday and fill it in for the following week. It is laminated and easy to wipe clean to reuse each week.

106423849_2342927506016187_3660090829859468448_n

I start by checking
– the freezer for protein or frozen veggies,
– the pantry for ingredients for sides,
– and the fridge for any fresh veggies/fruit we need to use right away!

Then I made write in meal ideas and make my shopping list!

I just took a MS template and edited it a bit to fit our needs. This summer I’m using it as a list of meal ideas — many meals we will choose from the list, then cross off the meal after it is all gone!

I hope this helps you too!

DIY Play Dough with Essential Oils

We have been home SO long and needed something new to make together! So this morning the kids and I made this DIY Play Dough that I found on the Young Living Blog — and it was SO easy!

I remember my mom making it with my brothers and I when I was little! She would double the recipe so that there was plenty. This recipe is enough for 3 children to each have a ball of dough.

The kids loved getting to choose any scent from our starter kit — Abbey chose Lavender (purple bottle), Jared chose Citrus Fresh (he loves how it smells!) and I chose Peace and Calming for Colby (because he woke up a bit grumpy today!)

The only ingredient you might not have on hand is the Cream of Tarter!

DIY play dough essential oils

The kids got to choose from 12 oils in this starter kit and some other ways we use them in our family! After trying another brand of essential oils, my Abbey broke out in a rash. So we found Young Living, I learned how they plant, harvest, and distill without adding any fillers — and our family has been using them for almost SIX years!

Here are our favorite roller bottles with the oils in our starter kit. There are SO many uses and DIY options!

Enjoy!

DIY Instant Pot Elderberry Syrup

for you

The last few winters my family has added Elderberry Cough Syrup to our winter wellness routine!  It has helped us so much and if you do a quick Internet search you’ll see all the benefits of this amazing herb — Vitamins A, B, and C are just a few benefits you’ll get from this syrup!

In the fall we start taking 1/2 – 1 tsp for kids and 1/2 – 1 tablespoon for adults right before we drink our NingXia Red every morning.  It became expensive to buy fresh syrup ($25/pint) so I began making my own with my Instant Pot!  It is SO easy!

Ingredients:

  • 1/3 cup elderberries
  • 1 3/4 cup water
  • 1/2 cup raw honey
  • 1 drop Young Living Ginger Vitality Essential Oil
  • 1 drop Young Living Cinnamon Vitality Essential Oil
  • 1 drop Young Living Clove Vitality Essential Oil
  • 3 drops Young Living Lemon Vitality Essential Oil
  • 3 drops Young Living Orange Vitality Essential Oil

Directions:

  1. Pour elderberries and water into your Instant Pot.  (Don’t add the honey yet or the essential oils since boiling destroys the properties!)
  1. Set the manual time to 5 minutes.  After the time is up, turn it off and just let the pressure come down naturally.
  1. Let the liquid cool.
  1. Strain the liquid into a glass storage jar and discard the elderberries.
  1. Add the honey and essential oils.
  1. Way to go!! You have homemade elderberry syrup!   We store our syrup in a glass jar in the fridge and take it daily in the fall. Some sources recommend taking only during the week and not on the weekends to boost immunity.

Makes 16 ounces.

This is a family recipe and not personal medical advice.

New Summer 2019 Products!

Every summer 40,000 people travel to Mona, Utah to see Young Living’s Lavender Farm and attend a convention full of so many fun workshops!!

I’ve gone at least 4 times, maybe 5, and every year I love jumping in the lavender! The beautiful lavender surrounded by the mountains is just breath taking!

Rose Essential Oils Recipes

rose

15% OFF ROSE ESSENTIAL OIL…February 11 – 14, 2019!!!

Quick Order. While Supplies Last. No Limits.

LET’S DO SOME MATH

Did you know the average price for a dozen long-stem roses is $42???

Did you also know that those same long-stem roses will only last about 7 days???

If my math is correct that $6/day.

Let’s compare that to a 5-ml bottle of Rose Essential Oil.

One drop of Rose Essential Oil (at 15% off) is $1.62

If you put one drop of Rose Essential Oil in your diffuser necklace every day, it would be +25 days before you spent the equivalent of what your dozen long-stem roses cost.

Your roses would be long dead and you still have 18 more days of Rose essential oil to enJOY!!!

But here’s the DEAL…Rose essential oil is so fragrant, that one drop of it in your diffuser necklace will last more than one day.

In fact, I’ve had it last over a week. Yes, one drop, on the little felt pad, lasted over a week.

I’ll let you do the math on that.

The bottom line. If you have to choose between a dozen roses or a 5-ml bottle of Rose essential oil this Valentine’s Day, choose the essential oil.

Not only is it a better value, it will also last longer. Way longer!!!

RAISE YOUR FREQUENCY WITH ROSE

Everyone has electrical energy or frequency.

We all know someone who has the ability to lift us up, just by being in their presence.

We also all know someone who brings us down without even saying a word. They give off bad vibes.

That’s frequency.

Negative thoughts lower our frequency. Positive thoughts increase our frequency.

Essential oils have frequency as well.

Those with higher frequency have the ability to positively influence our emotions.

Rose essential oil tops the frequency list, which means its fragrant influence is particularly beneficial to healthy moods and emotions.

ROSE RESEARCH

“These findings are likely to represent a relaxing effect of the rose oil and provide some evidence for the use of rose oil in aromatherapy, such as causing relief of depression and stress in humans.”

LOVE POTION NO. 6 ROLL-ON

10-ml Roll-On Bottle
2 drops Rose
2 drops Jasmine
2 drop Neroli
Carrier Oil

To a 10-ml roll-on bottle, add essential oils, then top with carrier oil of choice.

ROSE WATER

4 oz Spray Bottle
2-4 drops Rose
Distilled Water

To a 4 oz spray bottle, add Rose essential oil, then top with distilled water.

Shake and spritz.

The use of Rose Water water dates back to early Egypt when Cleopatra used it as part of her skincare regimen. Here are just a few of the many benefits of Rose Water:

• Maintains the pH balance of the skin and controls excess oil.

• Hydrates, revitalizes, and moisturizes the skin.

• Aids in healing scars, cuts, and wounds.

• Strengthens and regenerates skin cells.

• Clean pores and tones the skin.

I use Rose water instead of the Savvy Minerals Misting Spray when applying my Savvy Minerals makeup. I also use it as a finishing spray after I’ve applied my makeup.

ANTI-AGING FACE SERUM

1 oz Glass Dropper Bottle
1 drop Rose
2 drops Sandalwood
2 drops Frankincense
Jojoba Oil

To a 1 oz dropper bottle, add essential oils, then top with Jojoba oil. Cap and gently roll in hands. Apply nightly after cleansing and toning.

By the way, Rose essential oil is considered an aphrodisiac. Va-va-va-voom!!!

Why is Rose EO so amazing?

Rose has a beautiful, strong floral and sweet fragrance that is intoxicating and highly romantic. It helps bring balance and harmony with stimulating and uplifting properties that create a sense of well-being and self-confidence. It’s one of the highest frequency oil on the planet!

Used for skin care for thousands of years, it is perfect for dry or aging skin. Its incredibly relaxing and grounding, and my favorite use is with bath salts in a bath when you need that relaxation time.

Fun facts: It takes about 5,000 lbs of rose petals to distill 1 lb of essential oil. (about 2 cups) That’s an entire warehouse full. At our rose distillery in Turkey there’s a warehouse FILLED with rows and rows of screens used to put the petals on until they are distilled. They have women pick the petals because they can do so more delicately than men. They pick the petals at dawn, so that there is a little dew on them, keeping them fresh until they are distilled!

Here are the Top 20 reasons some of my Diamond friends put together to use Rose essential oil:

You can also do an internet search for the health benefits of Rose essential oil and find hundreds more ways to use this precious and valuable oil

Young Living says that “Rose (Rosa damascena) has a beautiful, strong floral and sweet fragrance that is intoxicating and highly romantic. It helps bring balance and harmony with stimulating and uplifting properties that create a sense of well-being and self-confidence.”

Rose has been used throughout history in the ancient art of aromatherapy for the well being of the body and mood-elevating support. Interestingly, because rose petals are not very high in oil content, it takes several thousand pounds of rose petals to produce just one ounce of this valuable oil, depending on the variety of plant used. Due to these factors, rose oil tends to cost much more than most oils. However, its price does not prevent it from being one of the most popular essential oils. Don’t be afraid to use this oil, saving it for a rainy day. You’re worth every drop in that bottle!

Love in a bottle. You cannot have a bad day when wearing this oil. Makes my heart sing.

Boosts self esteem, confidence, and mental strength when feeling sad.

One drop of this oil and I’m like ahhhhhh…. Speaking of…gonna go dab that fancy oil on my wrists today…Not gonna lie…I kinda wish I’d bought more than just the one bottle!! Can’t WAIT for mine to come in!!! Who else is getting one?

Did you realize that you can use rose oil on your body without actually putting a drop directly on your body? Simply lie down and put the capped bottle ON you. Relax and let it stay there for as long as you wish. Your rose oil will last a long time that way!

Savvy beauty serum for the face, neck and hands
1/2 oz sunflower seed oil
3 drops frankincense
2 drops myrrh
1 drop rose

(it can be EXTREMELY hard to get rose out of the bottle (it gels up) so….. the best solution I have found is to put the bottle in my bra or a pocket and let it warm up for 5 minutes. True Story. Body heat warms it up and the oils becomes perfect liquid and I am LITERALLY on cloud 9 all day. The frequency of it is so powerful!)

Just before going to bed, I like to put rose oil on the center of my forehead, over my heart, on my brain stem, and under my nose. This gives me the most restful sleep imaginable! When I wake up the next morning, I feel like I’ve been on vacation for weeks. I notice it when I don’t put it on.

When I’m out of sorts, I love to inhale rose oil. If you play your cards right, the bottle should last a whole year. Yep, I’m worth it!

Rose +Abundance = Smell like a million bucks!

Terrific skin-supporting properties (hence it’s inclusion in Rose Ointment).
